Wander through the streets and alleys of the historic centre, choose a restaurant where you can sample some pastéis. For wine connoisseurs, the area also offers great opportunities for oenological courses in the vineyards of the Douro.
A trip to Portugal, is also about the pleasure of tasting authentic cuisine, a mixture of exotic flavours, the legacy of the great explorers who left its shores to discover the world. The main speciality of the country is salted cod. It is cooked in a thousand ways, grilled, boiled, fried, and eaten with spicy sauces, served with rice.
