Snorkelling in the Maldives

It's no secret, the seabed of the Maldives offers a magical show of coral reefs and multi-coloured fish.

In the Maldives, all you need is basic snorkelling gear (fins, mask and snorkel) to admire an enchanted show. The archipelago is known as one of the best snorkelling spots in the world, and most of the time, the seabed is just a few kicks away. Some hotels offer diving directly from their deck or from the beach. Others allow you to enjoy a short boat ride to swim closer to the coral where exotic fish, sting-rays and sea turtles live. The Ari Atoll and its magnificent oval lagoon - West of Malé - and the Baa atoll, famous for its deep waters - Northwest of the capital – display all of the Maldives' bio-diversity, but the entire archipelago also offers stunning diversity.
A giant aquarium, accessible to all year-round, with clear turquoise 28 °C (82°F) water, the Maldives offer the best opportunity to discover the seabed.
