In one of Mexico City's most emblematic streets, in the heart of the Roma Norte neighbourhood, a large retro house from the 1970s with oval windows shelters Meroma. This contemporary Mexican restaurant, split on two levels, brings out a sense of aesthetics, reminiscing of the 1950s New York City as seen in the Mad Men series. On the ground floor, the cocktail bar welcomes gourmets before they head upstairs to discover the menu.
From the decoration to the food in your plate, Meroma showcases Mexican skills. The architecture has been conceived by a famous Mexico agency – the terrace covered with a glass dome being of special interest. The homemade dishware was supplied by a local craftsman, and the restaurant calls upon suppliers working in sustainable farming, the chinampas (cultivable land created on lacustrine areas) as well as local farms and small producers. Dishes are all prepared using products from the nearby regions, like the foie gras served with rhubarb, strawberries and cherries. As for the goat cheese pie, it comes with rice pudding and camomile. There, the goal is to let you experience totally new flavours and combinations!
